Build confidence, technique and water safety skills with structured swimming lessons at our Maidenhead venue. Delivered by experienced teachers at Newlands Leisure Centre, our lessons support children of all abilities with clear progression tracked through our home portal.

Tom Dean is a triple Olympic gold medallist, winning gold at Tokyo 2020 and Paris
2024 and one of Britain's most decorated swimmers.
You may also know him from Strictly Come Dancing 2024.
Beyond the medals, Tom built this school because he believes every child deserves expert, fun, water-safe swimming lessons.
Access to great teaching should not depend on where you live. In 2025, Tom Dean
Swim School partnered with the Prince and Princess of Wales's Royal Foundation to
provide subsidised lessons to 1,000 young people across the UK.
Every lesson wherever it is follows the Five Rings of Success programme Tom developed
himself. The same coaching philosophy that shaped him from a beginner to an
Olympic champion. Now here in Maidenhead, for your child.

Yes. All children over the age of three are required to wear a swimming hat during their swimming lesson. Swimming hats help keep hair secure, support pool hygiene, and make it easier for our teachers to see each child clearly in the water during their Tom Dean Swim School lesson.
Yes. All children under the age of three must wear a suitable swim nappy for their lesson. This helps keep the pool clean, safe and hygienic for all babies, toddlers, children, parents and teachers taking part in swimming lessons.
Yes. Parents and guardians must remain inside the building while their child is taking part in their swimming lesson. This ensures a responsible adult is nearby at all times should the child need support before, during or after their Tom Dean Swim School class.
Children under the age of eight must use the changing room appropriate to the adult accompanying them. For example, if a five-year-old girl is brought to swimming lessons by a male adult, they must use the male changing rooms. This policy helps us keep changing areas safe, practical and easy for families to use.
Yes. A padlock is required to use the lockers at this venue. We recommend bringing a suitable padlock with you so that clothes, bags and personal belongings can be stored securely during your child’s swimming lesson.
Please do not leave clothes, bags or personal belongings unattended. Parents and guardians are responsible for keeping their child’s items safe during swimming lessons. We recommend only bringing essential items to the pool and keeping valuables with you where possible.
Children must wear correct, suitable swimwear for their Tom Dean Swim School lesson. Board shorts or shorts below the knees are not acceptable, as they can make swimming more difficult and may affect a child’s movement, comfort and safety in the water. Fitted swimming costumes, trunks, jammers or appropriate lesson swimwear are recommended.
Yes. Spectators are permitted on poolside at this venue. Please ensure you wear the correct poolside footwear, such as clean and suitable footwear as required by the venue, to help maintain a safe and hygienic pool environment for all swimmers.
Yes. Please ensure all swimmers use the toilet and shower before entering the pool. This supports good pool hygiene and helps children arrive ready to begin their swimming lesson on time.
Yes. We advise all swimmers to arrive swim-ready where possible. Coming swim-ready means your child arrives with their swimwear already on underneath suitable clothing, helping families move through the changing rooms more quickly and ensuring lessons can start smoothly.
Yes. Parking is free of charge at this venue, but spaces are limited. Please allow plenty of time to find a parking space before your child’s swimming lesson so that they can get changed, shower and arrive at the pool ready for class.
